Who would guess that only minutes...

Amazing Places

Who would guess that only minutes earlier I'd been sliding around on all fours in the mud in my now too-small bikini, trying to get up on the mud slide? I can't say I had much dignity left after that. And by not much, I mean absolutely zero or less. And I can't understand why our guide chose to photograph me at those flattering angles and I just realised I didn't make them delete the photos from their system so I entirely expect to see them on a billboard when we next visit Yangshuo. ???? Anyway. Years ago if I'd explored caves and seen them lit with coloured fairy lights I would have turned up my nose - but not anymore. Emmie and I had so much fun yesterday at Yangshuo's Gold Water Caves. They're beautiful karst caves full of delicate stalagmites and stalactites and gorgeous underground patterns and caverns all lit up with colourful lights that kids will love. ???? It's so much fun - Emmie loved it and what's more, we ended with that very fun - if undignified - mineral mud bath and a dip in hot springs at the end. The mud is thick and squishy and there are two mud slides to go down. It's hilarious trying to walk through it and climb up onto the slide. I just had to forget my pride once I got in the mud, and it was super super fun. But not the clump that went straight down my earhole.???? Once we'd showered we lay in the hot spring pools and relaxed. It was such an awesome morning, and if you're heading here with kids it's a super fun family activity x . . . . #traveldiaries #wanderlust #mytinyatlas #happydays #bestdays #escapetravel #holidayswithkids #wearetravelmums #traveltheworld #familytrip #travelkids #travellingwithkids #yulongriver #amazingchina #liriver #visityangshuo #lovechina #visitchina #yangshuovillageinn #chinanature #yangshuomountainretreat #beautifulchina #chinamountains #mudslide #funfun
